The Hitchin Society arranges a programme of meetings and events throughout the year. Meetings or visits are generally held on the third Monday of the month.

Unless stated otherwise, meetings are held at the Hitchin British Schools, Queen Street, Hitchin, starting at 8.00 pm, with refreshments from 7.30 pm.

Members of the public are welcome at all the Society's meetings and other events.

Forthcoming events:

Monday 21July 2008 - Hitchin Festival event  -        The Industrial Archaeology of Hitchin                      Talk by Keith Fitzpatrick-Matthews.  Doors open 7.30pm, talk starts at 8.00pm.  Tickets from Hitchin Festival Box Office or at door (subject to availability).

Monday 18 August 2008  Visit to Moggerhanger Park.  Meet at Moggerhanger Park in time for a 12.00 noon guided tour.  Cost of tour £6.00 adults, £5.00 concessions.

Moggerhanger village is situated on the A603 approximately 3 miles from Sandy roundabout on the A1, travelling towards Bedford. Once in the village, follow the brown ‘historic house’ signs.
